WELCOME TO THE POWER SUMMIT

Understanding the value of voting doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The right to vote is one of the most fundamental aspects of democracy, yet many citizens who are eligible to vote, don’t, because they are uninformed or misinformed about the significance of their participation in elections. To address this challenge, Courteney Wilds (a private citizen), along with Monmouth County based nonprofits and citizens (Monmouth County Diversity Alliance, National Council of Negro Women North Shore Area, Ocean Chapter of the National Drifters, League of Women Voters, representatives from the BOE in Asbury and BOE in Long Branch), decided to host a non-partisan Voter Education Summit for Monmouth County, New Jersey. This summit aims to educate voters on the workings of their local, state, and federal  governments, emphasizing the importance of informed voting.
